She'd spent all day, out under her favorite tree far away from everything, reading a book, and daydreaming. She must have been quite absorbed, because when she glanced up, the sky was getting darker and some ominous clouds were starting to form. "Well," she supposed, "Under a lone tree on the plain is no place to be during a mighty storm. Might as well pack up and trudge home.", she muttered to herself.

This week the challenge is to take a word and twist it.

Here I have chosen the word Nomad, usually meaning a traveller. Well, this is a picture of my friend Conan, who indeed did travel, several times, all the way from Great Britain to America to visit my family, but to twist the word, I will say Conan is a nomad here because he is smiling so big as the warm beach sun sets on his face. There is No Mad, Just happy.

Not another migraine! Darn, these are coming more frequently; I wonder why. It hurts so bad. It's so dehabilitating. First, lights start seeming too bright, then sound gets muffled, black spots creep into my vision, and finally the stabbing pain. Sometimes it's so bad that I vomit, but at least that releases the pressure.




10/17/11--10:08: Today I had to work just off Country Club rd. As I passed the people enjoying themselves on the golf course I decided I would take my lunch outside this afternoon. The sun is georgous blue, the birds twittering, the temps are about 87 degrees. makes one almost not want to return inside. (chan 1472323)

For this week's theme of "three" I chose this picture which encompasses 3 palm trees near a very nice place to sit with a cool drink and watch the boats out in the water, or the artists selling their wares, and their patrons on the sidewalk below.

As I write this, it is nearly midnight. Almost the day which is known as Halloween, or All Hallow's eve, October 31st. It's a night when many like to party, both old and young alike whether they dress up as a cute fairy, princess or superhero, or if they go scary as a traditional witch or zombie or the latest political contender.

Some people know this date for another reason though.

 What about people born on a holiday? I have a son born on Christmas day. It's always easy to remember, but it's hard to get people to come to a party on his actual birthday and sometimes people give one present and call it both a birthday and Christmas present, which almost never is the case with someone born in June or such. But what about Halloween birthdays? Are they happy that there will always be a party they can find, or are they sad that they have to share it with the holiday. Perhaps they don't even like black and orange??

And then there are those of us who had a loved one die. My precious dau...
