- 01/23/12--11:44: sigh. A 15 foot branch crashed down out of a tree in my back yard last night. It broke into 3 pieces upon impact. I am thankful it didn't hit the roof, the shed or the gazeebo, but there IS a tear in the mosquito netting currently around the gazeebo. That saddens me. I'll have to look into how to properly repair it... Can I just sew it with needle and thread perhaps? (chan 1472323)

Dulce Sky- I dreamt of you Shining bride of angelic smile you seem to float as you come down the stairs I lost you in the crowd In the maze of this place I ran through rooms looking for you I thought I saw your face in a sea of smiles You make my dream so real I still awoke without you I went back to sleep to find you in my dreams I finally could find you there you were still the same sweet angel face You didn't know what happened Then fell into my arms.
guess here or in Pm. Ill give the results in a day or so.
what is this?
my word for the day is Smitten.
Rhymes with kitten.
When I hear it, I think of an old fashioned term to mean someone finds someone else endearing, that they are "falling" for that person, "twitterpated" (as from Disney's Bambi), in love, awe-struck, enamored, etc etc.
But, though that might be true, the dictionary also says that it is the past paticiple of smite. Yikes.
To smite someone is to strike them a firm blow, smiten is to be struck, laid low, plagued, or afflicted; Um, that's quite the opposite of what I would hope someone smitten with me, using the first definition, would do.

I just came home from the beach. It was beautiful, cast in the light of a nearly full moon. It was surprisingly empty. I literally was the only one out there, with my feet in the sand, for nearly an hour. It was too early for the night party crowd, yet too late for the daytime sun-worshippers as the sun had set long ago.
I walked down to the waters edge and looked out to the horizon. It truly is amazing to behold. I watched the waves come in, washing away some of the footprints from the daytime beach goers, each time receding out a bit further. I listened. I felt the coolness on my skin, and under my feet. I wished a lover to be there to share it with me. We could sit there for hours, perhaps wrapped in a blanket, or else in just each others arms.
I started walking and I came across some posts from a long worn out dock, that is usually not visible when the tide is in. I picked up a couple shells, and then I found the perfect small sand dollar. I am told that is lucky. I shall ...
I walked the path of the decrepit arches.
The mosses choked out any other life,
filling the cracks and making them wider.
The flames of temptation leapt at my feet.
I noticed not, as they burned me.
The door at the end gave way to my touch,
revealing a masquerade in progress.
Friends and strangers dance and writhe,
masked to the truths.
Melancholy abounds,
Yet the music drowns it out,
For a time.
The fabrics are exquisite in color and texture.
Taste the pleasure.
Our experiences are vast and plentiful.
Who would we be if we did not endure the worst of them?
Could we still face the noon-day sun as ourselves,
and feel it's warmth? Or,
Would we yet be enshrouded in decay and darkness?
Follow me not in my footsteps,
But forge your own path.
We may run parallel for a time,
but never quite in sync.
It is as always- ever changing.
Hopefully for the better,
Yet I am not always optimistic.
